Bộ phim hài lấy cảm hứng từ câu chuyện vua Arthur đi tìm các hiệp sĩ để cùng ngồi Bàn Tròn với mình tại Camelot. Ông tìm được nhiều hiệp sĩ như Hiệp sĩ Galahad Thuần Khiết, Hiệp sĩ Lancelot Dũng Cảm, Hiệp sĩ Bedevere Ít Nói, và Hiệp sĩ Robin Không-được-dũng-cảm-như-Hiệp-sĩ-Lancelot. Họ không cỡi ngựa nhưng giả bộ như đang cỡi ngựa và cho người hầu cầm hai cái muỗng dùa gõ vào nhau như tiếng ngựa. Qua vài cảnh châm biếm các sự kiện lịch sử (các phiên tòa xử phù thủy, dịch bệnh hoành hành, đói kém...) họ tới Camelot, nhưng cuối cùng lại quyết định không vào trong thành. Bất ngờ Đức Chúa trời xuất hiện ra lệnh cho họ đi tìm Cái Chén Thánh, và họ bắt đầu lên đường đi tìm.
